Update November 17, 2025: With the government reopening on November 12th, the below relief offers from merchants may have changed. Please consult with each retailer/merchant to verify available coupons or discounts.
Millions of households rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to put food on the table. With a federal government shutdown continuing and the U.S. Department of Agriculture warning that November benefits may not be distributed on-time , families are looking for help.
Several corporate and community partners, along with state governments, have announced measures to ease the burden for SNAP shoppers. This post outlines what’s currently available nationwide and by state, plus other resources you can tap during this uncertain time.

Other Resources You Can Use
If you’re worried about affording groceries, consider these additional options:
National Hunger Hotline: Find food resources near you Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET. Callers will be directed to local emergency food programs and resources.
For English: 1-866-3-HUNGRY (1-866-348-6479)
For Spanish: 1-877-8-HAMBRE (1-877-842-6273)
Food Banks and Pantries: Enter your zip code on Feeding America or FoodFinder.us to locate nearby food bank resources.
Community Meal Programs: Use findhelp.org to find organizations like churches, civic centers and local nonprofits who often offer free meals.
Double Up/Market Match Programs: Some farmers’ markets and grocers match SNAP dollars for fruits and vegetables. Check if your area participates in Double Up Food Bucks or a similar program.
School and Child Nutrition Programs: Families with children should see if child food or school meal programs remain available during the shutdown.
Final Thoughts
This period of uncertainty is stressful, but knowing your options can help you prepare. Nationwide, DoorDash, Gopuff, and other grocery partners are waiving delivery fees for November orders, while state governments and food banks are preparing emergency response plans.
